Being successful in Hong Kong
Stuart Wachowicz
Being successful in Hong Kong is no easy feat. The once small fishing village went through a period of extreme modernisation thanks to British colonialism, and has since become one of the most competitive cities in the world. With a ruthless work ethic and limited space, only the most determined people make it to the top. But achieving success in Hong Kong is not all financial.

Success is relative, and must be defined by your own personal parameters. Those that remain faithful to the teachings of Christ and original Christianity find it easier in life to achieve their own personal success in Hong Kong, and feel both happiness and accomplishment with what they have done.

Nowadays, it has become far more common for people to associate happiness and success in Hong Kong with money and fame. But neither of these will be able to give you personality, love or lasting success in Hong Kong. God teaches us this exact lesson. When King Solomon requested God for wisdom, God said: “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself…I have done according to your words…and I have also given you have you have not asked”, 1 Kings 3:11-14.

If we translate this lesson into achieving success in Hong Kong, it becomes clear that one should not simply just wish for riches and fame. While those will give you short-term success in Hong Kong, it will become obvious that true success is achieved only through having a happy and fulfilling life under the guidance of original Christianity.

True success comes from leading a gratifying life fulfilling the teachings of Jesus Christ. King Solomon left us this important lesson: “Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all”, Ecclesiastes 12:13. At Tomorrow’s World HK, we offer this guidance through bible study, and want everyone to be as successful as they can in modern day Hong Kong.
